Growing up in central Illinois, Meals On Wheels was very familiar to me since my mother was a regular delivery volunteer through the local senior center to seniors in need in our community. I was very proud of the work she did, and the commitment she made to people who needed just a little bit of help in their older years. Years later when I had the opportunity to provide some pro bono legal services to MOWAA, it was my turn to give back. That was late in 1995 and I have been helping MOWAA and its Foundation in one way or another ever since. In 2005, I was honored to be asked to become more substantially engaged with MOWAA on virtually a full time basis, and currently, as Vice President and General Counsel, I oversee contracting, licensing, regulatory and other legal matters affecting the Association. In January, 2009, I was asked to assume a greater role in MOWAA’s development activities. We are well on our way to try to raise the funds needed to support our Member programs and to identify new partnerships and relationships that will help us achieve our goals “so no senior goes hungry”®.
