Younger Generation of Meals On Wheels Supporters follow in their elders’ footsteps:
Hello,
My name is Annie and I am 18 years old. My grandmother, Patricia, passed away a year ago tomorrow due to ovarian cancer. Though our family has suffered a great loss, I feel as though there are many others suffering as well due to her loss. This letter is not just to tell you about a wonderful woman, but to ask what I can do to further support your cause. I’m sure you don’t know who Patricia was, but because of her, Meals on Wheels in Reedsport, Oregon is able to function. She did everything in her power to get them a new vehicle before she passed away, and there was an article in the local paper written about her and everything she did for their community, including her continued support of Meals on Wheels. This woman was amazing; she volunteered at the local senior center, even after she was diagnosed with cancer. She volunteered more time in her life than most people have worked. She was an amazing woman. Now, my family and I live in Jefferson, North Carolina, and I would like to set something up in honor of her to donate to your cause. I feel what you are doing is truly making a difference in people’s lives, and I would like to do my part…What you are doing is a wonderful thing; I would love to be able to honor her in a way that can help those around us in need. Thank you for all that you do; it is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Annie
